Pamplona, or "Iruña" in Basque, is more than just the place where bulls run through the streets in July, and, in fact, there is plenty to see and do throughout the year. The city's history goes all the way back to Roman times, but today it is known as the home of one of Spain's most important universities and as the capital of Navarra. Don't miss the beautiful baroque ayuntamiento, or city hall, and the Plaza del Castillo, the old quarter's main square. In the surrounding streets you'll find lots of lively tapas bars, and you may be surprised by how green Pamplona is, with lots of parks, including the Parque de la Ciudadela, with its star-shaped fortress.

The Pamplona Tapas Tour helps you navigate the old quarter's narrow streets and huge selection of tapas, or pintxos as they're called here. Pamplona's offerings include a great mix of the traditional and the modern, with prize-winning pintxos from the "Semana del Pintxo" contest in April sometimes becoming permanent fixtures on menus. This tour takes you around the old quarter for a varied taste of all that this historical city has to offer.
