Barrio de las Letras is one of the best neighborhoods in Madrid because of its proximity to the sights and its lively, local atmosphere. Madrid's three top museums, the botanical garden, the Retiro park, and the Puerta del Sol are all only a few minutes' walking distance from the apartment. The area is also well-known for its restaurants and tapas bars, its art galleries and its theaters. Most of the streets through the neighborhood are pedestrian, so window-shopping and people-watching are very pleasant.
