General philosophy

Connect with Spain with Letango Tours. We are a Spanish/American team who specialize in every aspect of travel in Spain and Portugal from hotels, car rentals, restaurants, events and transportation to city walking tours and special customized vacations like honeymoons and anniversaries. We offer many different services that can help you get the most out of your trip to Spain and Portugal. Our expertise will help you save time and money, and as a registered travel agency we can take care of all of the details, saving you from the headache of planning and leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy this beautiful country.

Guides

We believe guidebooks are extremely helpful, however nothing can take the place of an experienced, local and personable guide. Our philosophy is to bring you close to the culture in the most direct and non-touristy way and to save you time, and we think guided tours are a great way to acheive this. Our guides give you information, tips and tools that you can then use as jumping-off points to make your own discoveries. For this reason, we believe  that the extra cost of local guides in certain towns or cities is minimal compared to the full expense of your trip--in fact, if you had to choose between 4-star hotels and no guides or 3-star hotels with some guided tours, we would highly recommend the latter.

Culture

We like to visit small operations and factories that use traditional techniques and materials to give our clients a glimpse into the authentic old way of doing things. Whether we explore the manufacturing of marzipan, olive oil, wine, cheese or any other delicacy, we like to stay close to the art and the quality.

During festivals, Spanish people celebrate their ancestors' customs by paying homage to their traditions. While many are religious, the pagan ones are just as fun. You do not need to hit the big ones to experience Spain. We encourage and facilitate going to smaller places where the festivals are still owned by locals and not overcrowded with tourists.
